UCLA Health

Description:

The UCLA Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P) manages a $3M network spanning 14 academic health institutions. Despite its scale, participation was inconsistent, and internal systems were disjointed. I led an operational assessment that revealed bottlenecks and designed strategies to improve engagement and cross-site data sharing.

Challenge

A multi-institutional health research network struggled with low engagement, fragmented workflows, and inefficient onboarding across 14 institutions.

Approach

We mapped current workflows, identified participation gaps using survey data, and restructured internal communication systems to streamline collaboration and increase platform usage.

Outcomes:

Platform engagement rose by 25%. Two new research projects were added to the system, with institutional participation and satisfaction both improved.
